EVOLUTION AND TRANSFORMATION OF MOBILE PHONES

"Nokia' was the synonym of the mobile phones.  Once (not very far back) we watched with wonder the capability of the hand set well beyond the wireless extensions of our land phones.  The "pagers" were our most advanced communication device before the mobile phones.  The important people of a company used to carry the pagers during mid 90,s.  Suddenly pagers were replaced by stout mobile phones of Nokia, Motorola and Alcatel.  Nokia unquestionably reigned the arena with the introduction new models time to time.  Its OS "Symbian" we believed very flexible and capable of handling the challenges of  telecommunication industry.  Later their OS "Meego" even started handling VOIP calls.  As the industry was on the growing phase we are least bothered about the limits of "Meego".

This expedition of Nokia came to an end when Samsung introduced "Galaxy" smart phones with "Android" OS. We astonished by watching the versatility of the features of Android phones.  That was the starting of Smart Phone era.  Samsung by releasing different models with improved processor speed , memory , connectivity and similarly the producers of Android " Google" also rose to the occasion by relentlessly modifying the capabilities of Android and even defeated iOS in the race.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT MOBILE PHONE

Today's mobile market is flooded with numerous models from different manufacturers.  The dilemma of selecting the right phone is always there.

While the mobile manufacturers Samsung, HTC, Huwei, Sony, LG or Shaomi offers us mobiles with Android operating system, Apple presents its phones with iOS and  also there are other mobiles with different operating systems like Windows or Blackberry.

So in order to select a good smart phone what qualities we would consider ?

1) Audio :-  As it is phone primarily one would consider its audio quality. What is the use if its audio is poor even the phone possesses different features?

2) Data connectivity:- Today's trend is 4G.  Manufacturers are working hard to bring the gadgets with this features. The 3G mobiles initially marketed with higher prices are now being sold with drastically slashed prices after the arrival of 4G.

3)Wi-fi : This is the era of VOIP calls , people are happy with phones giving uninterrupted connectivity with excellent signal strength. It may depends upon the quality of service provider. But the performance of the handset in the given conditions will account for its success in the market.

Other features like Memory, Data capacity, Picture and video quality of the camera will come secondary to the above given points.

Strength and fitness of the handset in like the possession of scratch resistant screens like Gorilla Glass, metallic body etc also will come to the mind of the customer.
